La Suisse dans cent ans. Deux travailleurs marchent dans une zone désertée avant la catastrophe.

Dans Europium il y a des paysages. Ils sont majestueux. Tellement qu’ils renvoient l’humain à sa vraie dimension : un être minuscule. Et pourtant, cet humain réussit comme aucune autre espèce à asservir ses semblables. Il y a ceux qui se partagent la connaissance et la richesse, et les autres qui se répartissent les risques et la précarité. Europium dit tout cela, avec des mots venus d’ailleurs et dont la mélopée orientale traduit la résignation, la soumission. Incontestablement, c’est un vrai film politique que nous propose Lou Rambert Preiss.

In Europium, there are landscapes. They are majestic. So majestic that they restore human beings to their true scale: tiny, almost insignificant. And yet, humanity succeeds, like no other species, in subjugating its own kind. There are those who divide among themselves knowledge and wealth, and those left to bear the risks and the burden of precarity. Europium expresses all of this through words from elsewhere, whose Eastern cadences convey resignation and submission. Without question, Lou Rambert Preiss has made a genuinely political film.
