Lou Rambert Preiss (Paris, 1993) est cinéaste. Après des études de philosophie à la Sorbonne, il obtient en 2018 un Bachelor en cinéma à l’Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne, avec la mention Excellent et le Prix de l’ECAL. Ses courts et moyens métrages ont été primés à Locarno, Palm Springs, Côté Court (entre autres) et montrés dans de nombreuses institutions en France et à l’étranger : la Cinémathèque française, le Centre Pompidou, le MUCEM, WIELS, etc.

Il a été résident à l’Institut Français Saint-Louis Ndar au Sénégal, à l’Hôtel Experimenta ainsi qu’au programme d’écriture de la Salle de sport à Genève. Il a aussi été lauréat du prix Sofilm de Genre et de la bourse Upcoming Lab des 54e Journées de Soleure. Ses courts-métrages Métallismes (2024) et Le QR Code de Frankeasy (2026, coréalisé avec Max Wuchner) sont visibles sur Canal+.

Lou développe actuellement deux projets de longs métrages : un documentaire de création sur la réinsertion et la désocialisation d’anciennes femmes détenues ainsi qu’un drame choral où des personnages en quête de liens humains se cherchent sur fond d’espionnage. Lou est représenté par François Tessier, agence Aimant.

After studying philosophy at the Sorbonne, he graduated in Film from the École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL) in 2018, receiving the highest distinction (Excellent) and the ECAL Award. His short and medium-length films have been awarded at Locarno, Palm Springs, Côté Court, among others, and screened at numerous institutions in France and abroad, including the Cinémathèque française, the Centre Pompidou, MUCEM, and WIELS.

He has been a resident at the Institut Français Saint-Louis Ndar in Senegal, Hôtel Experimenta, and the writing programme at La Salle de Sport in Geneva. He was also awarded the Sofilm Genre Prize and the Upcoming Lab Grant at the 54th Solothurn Film Festival. His short films Métallismes (2024) and The QR Code of Frankeasy (2026, co-directed with Max Wuchner) are available on Canal+.

Lou is currently developing two feature-length projects: a creative documentary exploring the reintegration and social isolation of formerly incarcerated women, and a choral drama in which characters searching for human connection are drawn together against a backdrop of espionage. Lou is represented by François Tessier at Aimant.
